With a towel, fold it up and blot up as much of the red wine as you can. If you have any white wine, pour that onto the area and blot that up too. (doesn’t matter if you haven’t). Then pour water onto the area to rinse out the excess wine and blot up with folded towel. You may need to do this a few times. Stop when no more colour is transferred into the towel. If you have a fan, set that up on the area to speed up the drying.
